MEMORANDUM #42, 2007 M E M O R A N D U M TO: All Retirement Boards FROM: Joseph E. Connarton, Executive Director RE: Actuarial Valuations on the PERAC Website DATE: November 2, 2007 In reviewing our homepage, we note that approximately one-third of the systems have either an outdated valuation report posted or no report at all. We have removed some of the older reports since they are no longer applicable. In PERAC Memo #4/2004, we asked Boards to request from their actuary, as part of the valuation process, an electronic version of the report so that we can include it on our website. Many retirement systems have complied with that request. In PERAC memo #31/2006, we indicated that we had the ability to scan hard copies of valuation reports for inclusion on the website. Although we have this ability, this is a time consuming process. Our preference is to use an electronic version of each report since it will be of higher quality than a scanned report. In order to provide the most up-to-date information on the PERAC webpage, we urge you to work with your actuary to provide us an electronic version of the final valuation report. Please contact our actuary, Jim Lamenzo with any questions.
