Actuarial Valuations on the PERAC Website

View original on MA State Library

Summary

This memo updates boards on PERAC's initiative to post each retirement system's most recent actuarial valuation on its website, noting that PERAC can now scan hard copies for systems that haven't submitted electronic versions. Boards using private actuaries are encouraged, but not required, to have their actuary provide an electronic copy of the valuation report upon completion, as electronic submissions yield the highest quality postings.

Memorandum # 31/2006

M E M O R A N D U M TO: All Retirement Boards FROM: Joseph E. Connarton, Executive Director RE: Actuarial Valuations on the PERAC Website

DATE: July 6, 2006

In PERAC Memo #4/2004, we outlined our goal to post the most recent actuarial valuation of each retirement system on our Web site. We requested retirement systems that use private actuaries to ask their actuary to provide PERAC with an electronic version of their valuation report.

We now have the ability to scan hard copies of actuarial valuation reports. We will begin using this technology for reports for which we have not received electronic versions.
However, since reports that are produced from electronic versions represent the highest quality, we encourage you to work with your actuary to provide an electronic version upon completion of an actuarial valuation.
