M E M O R A N D U M TO: All Retirement Boards FROM: Joseph E. Connarton, Executive Director RE: Additional Spring 2006 Class

DATE: April 19, 2006

As I informed you in PERAC Memo #23/2006, PERAC will be offering classes for Board Members and Board staff in May dealing with the recent developments in pension law in Massachusetts. The topics will include the recently promulgated regular compensation regulations; the implementation of the recent court decision regarding motor vehicles; Chapter 157 of the Acts of 2005 (Disability Retirement Benefits for Veterans); and Chapter 143 of the Acts of 2005 (Change of Option Selection for Certain Retirees).

Due to the demand, we have scheduled an additional seminar on Monday, May 15, 2006 (1:30 PM - 3:30 PM) at PERAC. We have already contacted those individuals who were on the waiting list for a class and still have some seats available for this session. If you are interested in attending this session, please complete the attached registration form and fax it to the attention of Joan Arsenault at 617-628-4002 as soon as possible.
