This memo notifies boards that updated copies of the Massachusetts Public Employee Retirement Guide will be mailed free of charge (distributed by membership-size formula) during the week of April 17, 2006, with additional copies available from Central Reprographics or as a free download from PERAC's website. It also notes that updates to the Disability Retirement and Survivor Benefits guides are still in progress. No action is required of boards beyond noting the distribution and availability of these resources.

M E M O R A N D U M TO: All Retirement Boards FROM: Joseph E. Connarton, Executive Director RE: Retirement Guides
DATE: March 31, 2006
Central Reprographics, the Commonwealth’s in-house printer, will mail copies of the updated Massachusetts Public Employee Retirement Guide to the retirement boards during the week of April 17, 2006. In keeping with PERAC’s past practices, these copies are being dispensed free of charge to the boards in accordance with a distribution formula based on membership size.
The attached flyer contains information about how to obtain additional copies of the retirement guide from Central Reprographics. Please note that you may also download the guide for free from the publications section of PERAC’s Home Page: www.mass.gov/perac.
Work continues on updates to the Guide to Disability Retirement for Public Employees and the Guide to Survivor Benefits for Public Employees. Thank you for the patience you have shown with regard to the update process. We are mindful that public employees and retirees also request copies of these guides and we are hopeful of making them available soon.
