RE: Retirees’ Rights and Responsibilities

The Public Employee Retirement Administration Commission is pleased to provide you with copies of PERAC’s latest brochure, Retirees’ Rights and Responsibilities. This brochure is intended to provide general information about the post-retirement rights and responsibilities of retirees from public retirement systems in Massachusetts.
The Commission will distribute 13,514 copies of this brochure to the 106 public employee retirement boards in accordance with a formula based on membership size. Please advise your membership of the availability of this brochure and the ways in which it can be obtained. The enclosed copies are intended for distribution to prospective retirees.
There are three ways that you and your members may use to obtain additional copies of this brochure. You may download the brochure for free at “www.mass.gov/P ERAC. The brochure can be purchased for $.50 per copy at the counter of Room P-11 at the Plaza level of the McCormack State Office Building, located at 1 Ashburton Place in Boston. You may also mail order guides from the printer, Central Reprographics. Details about mail order procedures are included in the inside back cover of the brochure.
