Connarton, Executive Director RE: Correction to Noncontributory Pop Up Act Memorandum DATE: February 6, 2001 The recent Noncontributory Pop Up Act memorandum (PERAC Memo #12/2001) incorrectly stated the effect of the Act. The memorandum should have read “This act allows for a pension allowance adjustment for those noncontributory retirees who retired under G.L. c. 32, § 58B before January 12, 1988 and whose beneficiary predeceased them.” The remainder of the memorandum is correct and should be followed.
