PERAC MEMO #30/1999 M E M O R A N D U M TO: All Retirement Boards FROM: Joseph E. Connarton, Acting Executive Director RE: Updated Guide to Survivor Benefits for Public Employees DATE: August 27, 1999 We have recently updated PERAC’s Guide to Survivor Benefits for Public Employees. This guide now reflects changes and amendments to the law through the 1998 session of the Massachusetts General Court. A copy of the revised survivor guide is enclosed. You may use it to make copies for your membership. Please discontinue the use of any guide to survivor benefits previously issued by PERAC and rely instead upon this up-to-date version. The revised survivor guide has been posted on PERAC’s Home Page, www.state.ma.us/perac, on the Internet. You may find it there under the Publications Section. We have presented three different options for accessing the guide. Our goal was to make it easy for you and your membership to conduct on-line research and to print additional copies as needed.
