PERAC MEMO #26/1999 M E M O R A N D U M TO: All Retirement Boards FROM: Joseph Connarton, Acting Executive Director RE: Local Options DATE: July 28, 1999 The Public Employee Retirement Administration Commission is preparing to add certain local options to the Board Profile section of our Web Site. In order to ensure that the correct information is posted, we need your assistance. A listing of the local option provisions that may be of greatest interest to your members is attached. This list reflects only a few of the local option provisions that your system could accept. Those provisions of which the Commission has proof of your system’s acceptance are marked as such (Y = accepted, N = no proof of acceptance). Please note that since retirement boards were not required to notify the Commission of acceptance of some of these provisions, the Commission may not be aware of your acceptance of them. Also, some of these provisions may have been automatically accepted by your acceptance of a different local option. Validating the List Please verify the attached Local Option List by signing and dating the List where indicated and returning it to the Commission’s Legal Unit no later than August 23, 1999. Please sign and return the List to PERAC even if you have no updates to make to it. If your system has accepted one of the local options, but it is not marked as such on the List, please attach proof of acceptance (certified copy of legislative vote/retirement board minutes) to the List when you return it to the PERAC. If your system accepts any of the local options on the List after you have returned the List to PERAC, please send proof of its acceptance to the Commission’s Legal Unit. Please contact PERAC’s Legal Unit at extension 907 if you have questions about local options.
