PERAC MEMO #24/1997 M E M O R A N D U M TO:Retirement Board Administrator FROM:Robert F. Stalnaker, Executive Director RE:Internet Home Page for PERAC DATE:July 31, 1997 The Public Employee Retirement Administration Commission is in the process of implementing its own home page on the Internet. How the page functions will change over time. Initially, readers will be able to read information presented on the site and download it to print at their location. We also plan on incorporating electronic mail and interactive forms. Later on, we will use the Internet as a means of exchanging data files with the retirement boards. Such file transfers are a more complex and time consuming endeavor because of the security issues that have to be addressed. Because the retirement boards are our target audience, it is very important to learn about what you would like to see included in PERAC’s home page. Please share your ideas with us. On-line access to legal opinions, memoranda, guidelines, regulations and a PERAC staff directory are some options we are considering. Your recommendations and suggestions are critical elements in designing a page that works well. I encourage you to communicate your thoughts to us.
